With hundreds of mini notebooks, netbooks, and UMPC’s getting their fifteen minutes of fame its refreshing to finally post about one from a newcomer with design that is at least fresher then an updated hard drive or slightly bigger screen. Korean manufacture UMID has decided to jump on the bandwagon and release their very own netbook. It still does not have a name but we know its Atom powered, with 1 GB Ram and a 32 GB SSD, served to your liking via XP, Vista, or Linux. It also goes all out on the connectivity, this little device manages to squeeze in WiMAX, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, WiBro, DMB, and Bluetooth. The screen size is not known but its touch friendly with a resolution of 1024 X 600
Not a bad machine coming from a no name manufacture like UMID. They say it will be out in 2009. It all seems a little too good to be true, this device will either never come out, be released when this kind of set up is old hat, or cost a fortune with a stripped down list of features. Our bet is on the first scenario.
