Samsung released some details on an another upcoming phone at this years London Smartphone Show. The Samsung INNOV8 will be following in the footsteps of the previously announced Samsung S60 I7110 by including an impressive digital camera setup. The phone features an 8 mega pixel camera (Samsung’s first) with ’smile shot’, ‘blink shot’, face recognition features, and some picture editing programs. The phones GPS will be good for geo-tagging those photos and can also be used for navigation. Other features include an optical mouse, 8GB or 16Gb of flash memory, with the option to expand via SD cards, Wi-Fi, and HSDPA. The sharp screen you see is a 2.8″ 16 million color LCD, and with 8 megapixel photos to view you’ll need it.
These amazing camera phones are all well and good, but the main problem with camera phones has less to do with the megapixel count then it has to do with speed and function. Cell phones have always been to slow to take pictures, and any zoom functions pale in comparison to a stand alone camera.
