Samsung has dropped another one of their famous ‘worlds first’ with their massive 14.3″ color e-ink display. The e-ink is run off a carbon nanotube based color electrophoretic display (EPD) and is the first color display of this size (A4 paper). The display is the fruit of a joint development project between Samsung and Unidym, an American based leader in carbon nanotube’s. With the potential end of photocopying, save some trees, and more importantly the ability to read a news paper without getting that messy black ink on your fingers seeming just around the corner…We humbly recommend Korea’s government makes this economic priority number 1.
The tech news out of Korea just doesn’t slow down these days as three trade shows converge in an orgy of coverage. This display was being shown off at the International Meeting on Information Display (iMiD 2008) currently being held at the KINTEX convention center, just north of Seoul.
