Korean manufacturer Samsung and European design house Giorgio Armani have teamed up once again to enthrall fashion savvy users looking for a mobile phone that will complement their mass production luxury goods fueled style. The long awaited Samsung Armani 2 mobile will be called “Night Effect”. The phone comes with huge Emporio Armani logos on both front and back panels, and shining LED bar around the side giving a “Night Effect” LED colors available include red, green, and blue.
The Samsung-Armani Night Effect uses quad-band EDGE/ HSDPA, is loaded with 3.2 megapixels camera, and disappointing 120MB of memory…which can luckily be expanded via micro SD, built-in FM radio and Bluetooth 2.0. Night Effect is expected to be launched in Europe this November and will be followed with South East Asia and Middle Eastern launches soon after. So far no release date has been set for North America, which is probably a savvy business move considering the coming recession.
This collaboration seems very similar to other Samsung - Armani projects the two companies have worked on. Samsung provides the electronics and Armani adds a colored light and their logo. Overall, the phone has a simple and elegant look, similar to the people who will buy it. Hopefully this version of phone will overcome some of the usability glitches that previous version of Samsung Armani phone reportedly had.
