Some official pictures have been released of Samsung’s first Netbook, while many smaller manufactures have been all over the low cost Netbook industry heavyweights such as Sony and now Samsung are finally announcing their own low cost solutions. The yet to be named netbook is set for launch at the end of October.
The netbook shown has a 10.2″ screen and will be available in White, Black, and Blue . In order to provide a large keyboard and touchpad area, media keys are not included and the power button has been fitted on the side of the notebook.
Inside the device is expected to be powered by Intel Atom N70 processor with 1GB of RAM. The hard drive is likely to be a standard 80GB or 120GB. The battery is a 6 cell unit giving non stop running time of around 5 hours. Similar to other low cost Netbooks the operating system will be Windows XP.
Samsung has not released the price, but has indicated that the cost will be comparable to other similar netbook prices so expect it to be in the $500 USD neighborhood.
