Samsung Notebook Korean

Korean electronics giant Samsung is under tremendous pressure to boost its laptop sales in the coming years. According to a senior manager at the company, Samsung needs to ship 11 million laptops in 2011 to sustain profitability of their notebook business. This means Samsung must triple thier sales of notebooks and increase the market share from its present 1.7% to 5.7% in a span of three years. In other words, go big, or go home.

Unlike other notebook manufactures, Samsung fabricates 80% of its laptop components in-house. Samsung also supplies the TFT panels and memory to other notebook manufacturers, such as Apple and Acer. With Samsung Electronics’ continued expansion into new markets, such as Italy in 2007 and Poland in March 2008, company’s senior management is confident of meeting what looks to be like a very ambitious goal.

With Samsungs marketing, research, and manufacturing expertise it seems likely they will meet their goal. There are few reasons why Samsung could not become a much larger player in the notebook market. All the company would need to do is make a serious attempt at capturing a piece of the US market to meet its goal of surviving. Its done it before with vacuums, and cell phones, now watch Samsung work its magic with notebooks.
