LG releases 19-inch OLED Panel

LG Electronics has made some headlines this week for their plans to roll out an extremely slim 19″ OLED display. The 19-inch OLED panel uses an amorphous Si TFT. The release of a 19″ panel is big news for LG, it looks like the company is on track to meet its goal of providing 32″ production OLED displays by 2011. However, even if the technical obstacles are overcome there will be no free ride for the company. Samsung has also presented quite a wide range of highly innovative OLED products that will be ready to compete for scarce consumer dollars over the coming years.
