A lawsuit was filed February 5th with a New Jersey court charging that the Blu-Ray player plaintiff Robert T. McGovern is defective and was knowingly sold despite its inadequate abilities. The lawsuit has been filed against Samsung of America, and although the filling itself is a little too legalistic and intense to post in full, but seems to puts forth a good claim against Samsung. Not only was the plaintiff unable to play certain Blu-Ray disks on his Blu-Ray player as advertised, Samsung did not provide any help or firmware upgrade to fix the problems. Then to add insult to injury Samsung still advertises their players as being “premium” and of “high quality”.
From the get go there have been numerous complaints over Samsung’s Blu-Ray players, mainly their inability to play certain Blu-Ray titles. Samsung has been desperately trying to patch up the problems with firmware upgrades, but it may have been too little to late for Americas law suit hungry lawyers.
