UBillion Digital Convergence UB IPTV

UBillion’s IPTV entertainment and service platform dubbed UB-IPTV delivers a variety of content and services. It is also the control center for UBillion’s home automation features.
UB-IPTV delivers the typical services such as movies and TV, but also offers games, e-mail, music downloads, and the ability to surf the net. Although noticeably lacking from the web browser is the ability to install Active X controls, the browser can still handle most general surfing. UBillion’s IPTV also provides banking and shopping services.
The service has been undergoing trials since early 2007 and costs W5,500 or $6 USD. The set top box required for UBillion IPTV is expected to cost under $200 USD.
Although UBillion’s services and products are still in trials they have plans for an array of products including the UB 1000 Digital Media player, UB 2000 Network DVD player, UB 5000 Digital Home Gateway, UB 3000 DTV DVD Network player, and the UB 7000 LCD-TV.
UBillion’s planned product list is as impressive as their IPTV service, but they face competition from several other Korean IPTV providers including POSDATA and hanaTV.
