UBillion’s IPTV based home automation system is currently being tested in Korea as part of the Fifth Ubiquitous City program. Aside from offering IPTV entertainment service the UBillion network allows users to control their home automation system from their TV.
The home automation system uses a small remote and keyboard to control the house. The air conditioning and heating as well as fans or gas valves can be remotely operated. The homes blinds, locks, and lights can be controlled from the TV as well.
Security systems can also be monitored granting the home owner access to CCTV feeds from an apartment complex both inside and out, or even a front door. When a guest rings the doorbell the video feed is automatically displayed on the TV screen. All from the relative safety of the living room couch.
All of the home network components for UBillions Fifth Ubiquitous City test where manufactured by Baha.
