Samsung’s MZ60 Pc is powered by a Core 2 Duo (1.86GHz) processor and operates on Windows XP Media Center. It has 1024MB of Ram, and a 320GB hard drive. The graphics are run with the Geforce 7300LE 256MB card. The MZ60 provides HD audio, TV-out, and a Super-multi lightscribe DVD burner. However, very little of this information is either impressive or innovative.
Samsung’s design of the computer is what makes the MZ60 interesting. The box itself is sleek and well designed but the traditional Korean geometric design is what sets this computer apart from the others. A dark blue semi-translucent design adorns the front of the computer, adding a degree of beauty and sophistication to the PC. A earlier article looked at Ben-Q’s new monitor, and the shifting trend in electronics designs. The MZ60 is another good example of meshing together art and electronics.
