I made a trip to the COEX Exhibition center in Seoul to view the NewTech Korea exhibition. NewTech highlights Korean and some foreign technology achievements. The exhibition was very well organized and I was given a thick guidebook upon entry that included profiles of all the companies present in both English and Korean. They also had at least one English translator on hand to assist any foreign visitors, and since I was the only foreign visitor in sight the translator was at my disposal for my entire visit.
Daewoo’s pavilion on their home automation technology was the best at the show. I was not familiar with Daewoo’s home automation business before the show and they staff on hand did an excellent job explaining it. I also found Garam an interesting Korean company working on automated systems for Hotels. My personal highlight of the show is a tie between the 3D and holographs on display, and the section where you could test a Segway [Video]. It was my first time experiencing both of these products. There is a short video of me on the Segway [VIDEO]. NewTech was a great show and in the upcoming days I will be posting on the numerous new technology products and concepts I viewed there. You can find these posts on my technology blog Hallyu Tech.
