Samsung 3M Piezo Autofocus Camera For Mobile Phones Coming Soon

Samsung was displaying its 3M Piezo Autofocus Camera. The tiny camera is designed to be used in cell phones, PDA’s, cars, security systems, and robots. The camera had a frame rate of 15fps, and its focus is 10cm-infinity. The picture is surprisingly clear considering the camera is under 18mm in size. The focus on the camera was great simultaneously keeping focus on the business card in front of it and the background. Unfortunately the focus on my camera (a Sony) was not so great, combine that with some compression and you get the blurry photo shown above. Look for Samsungs new camera to be entering consumer products as early as the first quarter of 2007.
